Tour da Woods Mountain Bike Challenge has 2 races to choose from in 2010:

 

“Hiawatha’s Revenge”

“Hiawatha’s Revenge” is a 30 mile course that starts at the Alger County fairgrounds in Chatham, Michigan and finishes at the Munising Mustang’s Football Stadium behind the Alger Arena, Varnum Street, Munising, Michigan.

Packet pickup available at start from 8:00 - 9:00 am
Race roll out time: 9:30 am.

“Red Deer Run”

“Red Deer Run” is a 15 mile course that starts at the Valley Spur Ski & Mountain Bike Trail Head, 5 miles south of Munising on M-94. This races finishes at the Munising Mustang’s Football Stadium behind the Alger Arena, Varnum Street, Munising, Michigan.

Packet pickup available at start from 7:00 - 8:30 am
Race roll out time: 9:00 am

Sports Massage by Willow

Sports massage offered after your hard ride by Willow Grosz, certified massage therapist. Sign up in advance at packet pick-up Friday night or stop over after your race. 

$15 for 15 minutes or $30 for 30 minutes.

Unique awards are given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place male & female riders in both the 15 & 30 mile races. Medals are awarded by age and gender in all categories for both races. The Bayshore Park pavillion area features a brick bread oven and Munising’s very own Carberry sisters will be there baking us fresh pizzas to enjoy while attending the awards ceremony. Donations will be accepted for the pizzas, the proceeds of which will be donated to The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation.

Altran bus will provide transportation for racers following the race for vehicle pickup from both race start areas. Shower facilities and secure bike corral will be available at the race finish.

Race proceeds from past years have been used to benefit the Alger County D.A.R.E. drug awareness program and the Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation’s CHAMP fund which makes grants available to Alger County residents facing breast cancer and to community organizations seeking to implement or expand programs designed to make a positive difference in the fight against breast cancer.
